Best software for creating a thumbnailed website?

wondering what type of software is out there for creating a medium sized to large sized website for thumbnail viewing?

I'm the wrong person to ask. I'm fighting with Gallery which seems to like to quit working every 3 months or so for no reason at all. I'm looking for one myself so I hope you get answers soon.
