Beginner Question re: image use/privacy

I am planning a medical educational/informational website.

There are many images I have found from other sites that would be useful to display on my site- are there privacy and copyright issues with this?

How would I know which images are free and open and which need a release/permission to be used?

It depends on where you've seen the images - some sites (if they are research or image libraries) will often state conditions for external use. Is there are not any conditions - you should seek permission to use each image that you want to use.

It is not good practice to steal images (or any other content) from another website without permission.
