Batch Image Resizing Program

We need to resize a few thousand pictures for our products. I really have no experience in using programs for resizing a bunch of images and was curious if anyone knew of some good ones.

I need the program to accomplish a few specific things:
Resize the image to specific dimensions, while keeping proportions the same. When it does this, I want the space that it will inevitably have to create to be transparent.

Both are free, easy to use and can do all you require.

Best solution, bar none, is to use batch processing in Adobe Photoshop. Once setup you can just drag n drop files onto Droplet file. Boom, you're done.

I personally love to use Actions is Photoshop for that. You still have controll over the whole image, especially if you have to crop them too.

If you're using Win Vista or 7, there's a image resizer powertoy clone that works great. It's just like the one on XP.
