Automated Photo slideshow

Hi,

I have created an automated photo slideshow in image ready for a webpage. What I want is a shape transition effect between the images, where one images breaks up into boxes and the next image comes in as say circles and so on. Can that be achieved in imageready or does it have to be done in flash?
All i have been able to do is a fade transition effect.
I have flash mx2004 but Im finding it very difficult in getting a hang of it.
Can anyone please help me out?

i would go with flash for simplicity and loading times. in photoshop/image ready you would need to create each image of the transition manually being that you are working with animated gif's. also the file size/load time probably wouldn't be the greatest.

Thing is I cannot follow any of the tutorials that I find to do it in flash. Im finding flash so difficult to get the hang of. iM using flash mx2004. These are the tutorials I have found,

flash comes withs a decent library of tutorials that explain the basic functions and help get you started in the right direction. start with something simple and work your way up from their.

a little bonus of learning flash is that you will find it easy to start working with other video editing programs as well, once you get the hang of it.
