About a modest logo...

Hi again everyone! I was thinking about using this as the basis of "my" logo:
Studiocigar
Oh, and before you try to psychoanalyse me...
Freud.jpg

(this one is not mine, of course) =P
What do you say? Is it acceptable? Is it "meh"?

its a start

I would say it is a decent start, but it is too large-

You will need to shrink it and enlarge the text piece somehow-

also, flip the words 'quality blend' to read from left to right (not upside down) -

One small step further...

Thanks for your (constructive!) feedback: how about the new version?
Version 2
Problem is the smoke still occupy too much space... maybe I should remove it.

I believe it would be substantially improved it you forgot about the cigar entirely and focused on the label. cigar labels were traditionally strong in branding therefore I think it would be wise to move away from the clipart looking approach and get some colour in their too...

It looks more like a bit of vector clipart rather than a brandable logo.

To become a decent logo you could form the smoke trails into the words "Studio Cigar" and run it parallel to the cigar.

Food for thought

Mmm, I see your point. Actually, using the cigar "label" (with a proper color scheme) as the true logo, and maybe leaving the wrapped cigar as a graphic element to put somewhere, sounds like a good idea. The smoke-writing seems nice too...
I'll work on it, thanks.

Not a logo, but excellent vector work! I'm assuming you're working vector, right? I don't think this will scale very well...but you may be able to prove me wrong. Also logos don't have to be horizontal IMO. They can be vertical in nature as yours is.
