    Forum for Articles, Tutorials, Etc.

So would this be a personal blog for yourself, or a system to create/share blogs for members as well? Experience tells me that adding a blogging feature to forums is actually rarely used unless it's a blog made by admins/mods. I suppose it would make sense that forum blogging add ons aren't...

Help with Table and Div Height at 100%

The issue is probably in that IE6 (I can only assume that's what you're having the problem in, since it's 90% of troubles.) doesn't recognize % based widths and heights very well. You might try using the auto element to see if that changes it.

IE6 Breaking my Tables with Image

Switching to a div based layout might help if it works in your forums.

On a scale of one to 10

The site has a nice modern feel, and definitely appeals to the people you're targeting. The text is easy to read, but the blue text for "New Stuff" is a little difficult to make out. My eyes suck though, so that is probably the issue.

    New Layout

It's only in the gfx stage, but I'm working towards a fully coded html/css/php version. Trying to sort out some content area ideas. I'll post it up when it's ready :)

    Generating Activity on the Forum

Well, like I said, I'd be glad to help organize contests and manage them if you need the extra hand. I've got the free time for it.

    Review Please

First off, the lack of color you mentioned tends to make me tired. All black web pages often have trouble standing out in the web. My first recommendation would be to ditch the background. Try following a few Web 2 trends. To improve your page, I would place content in a rounded rectangle...

    Generating Activity on the Forum

There's no real downside besides actually managing the contests. I'm sure that plenty of active members on this forum would be glad to volunteer time for it. I know I would.

    I need help!

You'll have to learn php and how to use MySQL (or whatever your server runs). Here's a good article: http://www.evolt.org/PHP-Login-System-with-Admin-Features

    Generating Activity on the Forum

I've really enjoyed my time on WDF so far, but I feel that with the number of registered users, it could be far more active. With this in mind, perhaps we should consider some sort of regular contest? Maybe like a monthly web design contest/graphics contest/something along those lines...

    WebSite help!

First, take the height of your background and subtract the height of the bolt image, then do the same for the width. Then put in the following for your css. .boltleft { margin-top: heightpx; margin-right: widthpx; float: left; } .boltright { margin-top: heightpx; margin-left: widthpx; float...

Portfolio / Blog Redesign, feedback requested!

He's been reported. Anyway, I personally find it rather busy. The header would look good if the color change wasn't so abrupt at the bottom (or if it was abrupt at the top to, to give it the feeling of seeing a window over it or something). Other than that, well done.

how to change links colors using just html not css. to a specific link

<a href="#" style="color: red" /> Link </a> You're gonna end up using CSS, but the simplest way is that. Another method is to assign id's in your css file and just add id="" to your anchor tag.

    Fontalicious

Use like a light purple grunging along the edges (not too much) then go over it with a darker purple brushing, but do less than you did for the light. This should draw the focus to the center, where the text is :)

Newbie - Advice requested on for forms/eMail

In order to automate anything, it becomes interactive. When doing something interactive, the most common method is to use PHP. It'd be a good idea to get the basic grasp of PHP and how to use it by visiting this website: http://inpics.net/phpbasics.html After that, try the following to get...

You've got some talent there April! I'll assume you're using photoshop? If so, what version? I think it would look even better with some dark on light grunge brushing along the edges.

Is there such a thing as a reliable host?

100webspace.com has been my host for years, no matter what website I've made. They've only ever had one major server issue, and that was around a year and a half ago. (Maybe longer than that.) So far they are reliable, and are getting ready to implement dedicated servers, which should take the...
