For my website (Click here to view) I am have been using Amazon for my affiliate marketing but havent been raising any money. Does anybody know other systems that work well?

Otherwise can you check out the website? Do I need to improve my layout? All ideas and criticism welcome

Its nothing phenomenal but its steady. I get about 2-3% CTR and only a 5-7% product buy from that and I dont get commission unless something is bought and I feel that is an overall low rate since it needs the two things to happen. I was wondering what else is out there that is known to work well

Google Adsense, Kontera though don't use them both on the same URL.

Clickbank, CommissionJunction, Ebay Auction ads, CPALead.com, PayDotCom.com, Click2Sell.com, plimus.com plus many others.

have a look www.5staraffiliateprograms.com/ for lots more

Isn't Kontera kind of a joke... like an average of one or two cents per click??

OP, you didn't talk about your website traffic. Amazon only gives you small images for banner advertisements... you'd probably increase the CTR if you found royalty free images to use for each affiliate link - larger than what Amazon gives you. there might be a script out there to resize the images (they make you use iframes / scripts which is kind of annoying).

Since your thread is titled 'amazon vs others' I just wanted to say that Amazon and Clickbank are both a couple of VERY good affiliate programs yet they have nothing in common with each other. Their strengths and weaknesses seem to be polar opposites (one is digital only, one has high commissions the other low, one has long lasting cookies and the other one has short ones, one is very trustworthy the other is viewed as a little sketchy, one makes you find a way to hide those sketchy hop links and the other one has links that look almost as if they weren't affiliate links, etc.)

Just getting started in affiliate marketing, but have not really made much yet. A lot have said Amazon requires a lot of visitors to your site. Why? I have simply put it on there and let my friends know to click on that before they go purchase stuff, and have made a few bucks off of it from just that. I also do Hostgator which has paid off a couple of times, and Namecheap.
